I want long hair!

One of my favorite websites for everything beauty and fashion is without question Refinery 29. I love that recently they're all about fashion, beauty and DIY tutorials. I'm especially in love with all of the hair ideas they've been featuring recently, too bad that most of them are for long haired girls only. I leave you with my favorite feature, where they show how to create 8 gorgeous updos (top knots and braids, woohoo!) perfect for summer. Some of them look like they might require a little bit of practice and elbow grease, but the results look well worth the effort! Check them all out here!

Una de mis páginas favoritas para moda y belleza es definitivamente Refinery 29. Me encanta que últimamente han subido muchos tutoriales sobre moda, belleza y manualidades. Estoy especialmente enamorada de todas las ideas para peinados que han subido recientemente, lástima que la mayoría solo funcionan si tenes el pelo largo. Las dejo con mi noticia favorita, donde muestran como crear 8 peinados  lindísimos (con trenzas y moños!), perfectos para nestro clima. Jessica Alba's Color Masterclass

I don't know how or when it happened, but suddenly I've been seeing photos of Jessica Alba all over my Pinterest, and I just can't get enough. Her wardrobe is awesome. Though she did look lovely at the Met Ball, what I'm in love with is her cool street-style and her use of color. Dressed up, dressed down, bright, muted, solid or patterns - lately she's been rocking more colors than a bag of skittles. Here are a few of my favorite looks and tips on how to dress colorfuly.

No se cómo ni cuándo pasó, pero últimamente he visto varias fotos de Jessica Alba en mi Pinterest y me encanta como se viste! Aunque siempre se ve linda en eventos de gala, creo que sus mejores looks son los del día a día. Formal, casual, encendidos, opacos, sólidos o estampados - últimamente se viste con más colores que el arco iris. Las dejo con un par de mis looks favoritos y tips sobre cómo vestirse a colores.

Dress in layers!

Dresses, jeans, leggings: Jessica will throw a sweater, blazer or vest over anything. They usually balance out the rest of colors in her outfit: if she's wearing bright pants, she'll wear a neutral blazer or the other way around. 

Jessica usa un suéter, blazer o chaleco encima de cualquier cosa: vestidos, jeans, pantalones. Usualmente balancean el resto de colores en su look: si está usando pantalones de color fuerte, usará un blazer neutro o viceversa. 

The scarves!

No matter the season or the occasion, Jessica will wear a scarf. A big scarf on chilly days, or a light weight one in the summer: they elevate her look instantly.

four ways: chambray shirt

You know what they say, "better late than never", I'm happy to report that chambray shirts have finally made it into our stores! I've spotted them at different price points and washes at both Zara ($49.95) and Stradivarius ($35.95), they're almost identical, except Zara's fabric is stretchier and sturdier. I prefer the lighter washes, because you can wear them with jeans, but any color except dark navy works great! Below, I show you four different ways to wear your chambray so that you get the most bang for your buck! I don't think these are a trend anymore, they've been around for a couple of seasons now, so go ahead and get one!

Ya conocen el dicho de más vale tarde que nunca, así que estoy feliz de reportar que las camisas de denim finalmente están disponibles en tiendas! He visto varias a diferentes precios y en diferentes tonalidades en Zara ($49.95) y Stradivarius ($35.95). Ambas son casi idénticas a la vista, pero la tela de Zara es más rígida y se asemeja más a tela de jeans. Me encantan los colores más light de estas camisas, ya que los puedes usar con jeans, pero cualquier color excepto los muy oscuros funcionan perfecto! sparkly quirk

I love Jenna Lyons. She has style, talent, success, and according to NY Magazine she's also very nice. I loved the profile they did on her for a past issue, The J in J.Crew, most of all because it highlights Jenna's quirk so much. It's like she's the antithesis of Martha Stewart. I adore Martha Stewart, but I think it must be a lot of work to be like her. All of this DIY-ing, decoupaging and sewing. I love to love Martha because she portrays the image of this perfect old school lifestyle which I love to gawk at, but not necessarily want for myself. Jenna on the other hand, has mastered how to be perfectly imperfect. She was freakishly tall, lanky and had skin problems as a child, but has become one of the most beautiful and admired women in fashion. The thing about her is that she's not obviously pretty. She wears huge glasses, doesn't tuck in her shirts, she even has bald spots on her head. I also bet that she doesn't fold her fitted sheets at home. Unlike Martha, Jenna makes everything seem efortless, from the way she dresses to her work ethic, and that in my opinion, is something to aspire to. Read the whole profile here.

Me encanta Jenna Lyons. Es una mujer con estilo, talento, éxito y además según NY Magazine, es muy linda persona. Me gustó mucho el perfil que le hicieron para una edición pasada, The J in J.Crew, sobre todo porque resalta lo poco común que es ella. Jenna es como la anti-Martha Stewart. A pesar de que Martha es otra de las mujeres que admiro, me parece que su estilo de vida implica muchísimo trabajo. Todos estos proyectos hechos a mano, cocina, costura, etc. Me encanta el deber ser de estilo de vida que ella transmite, pero no necesariamente es algo que quiero. Jenna por otro lado, es la modelo del estilo de vida perfectamente imperfecto. No es tradicionalmente bonita, ocupa anteojos enormes (culo de botella), no se mete la camisa y se le cae el pelo, sin embargo, hoy en día es considerada una de las mujeres más lindas de la moda. A diferencia de Martha, Jenna hace que todo se vea fácil, desde la manera como se viste hasta su trabajo, y eso en mi opinión, es algo a lo que cualquiera de nosotras puede aspirar.
