Ugh, I hate it when this happens. Mid morning office break, make some tea, check my personal e-mail and "new arrivals from Kate Spade!", click on e-mail and bam! There it was, so perfect, so simple, so chic: THIS pullover. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I officialy have problems, besides being a shopaholic... Problem 1: Expensive pullover. Problem 2: Apparently it's a katespade.com exclusive, and they don't take salvadoran credit cards. A half an hour of googling later, but no, no pullover anywhere

The collection is slowly making it's way on other retailer's websites, check out my faves below, seriously, it's lovely. Just looking at it makes me smile wider than photos of puppies and baby koalas. I want it ALL. It was about time that Garance scored a collab, she is one of the pioneers of fashion bloggers and an awesome illustrator. She's always posting photos of her very fashionable friends and being funny. Check out her website HERE! :)

Remember when Coach was super popular? Every girl wanted a bag stamped with the C logo, and almost everyone had at least the small crossbody ones. Lately, I think the Longchamp Pliages and anything Michael Kors have become the new Coach: almost everyone has one, or at least I bet you know a girl who has one. I think we all got so tired of seeing all of those C's everywhere, so they slowly started fading into the background.

Today while I was browsing through my August issue of Harper's Bazaar, I was inmediately drawn to a photo of three bright, primary colored clutches. To my surprise, COACH makes them! After a quick skip over to their website, I found out they've expanded their Legacy line, featuring over twenty new bags in bright primary colors for fall. They start at over $150, but even the most expensive one (a HUGE tote you could basically live in) is under $500. So, while they're not cheap, they are the nicest looking affordable luxury bags out there. They remind me of Tory Burch and Reed Krakoff bags at half the price! I know it's barely August, but just something to keep in mind come Christmas...

I love that the nautical trend has caught on so much this summer! I got this cardigan yesterday in the mail and I couldn't wait to wear it today, it was love at first sight :)

seeing spots

I think polka dots and stripes are officially the new neutrals. They go great with other solid colours as well as with any pattern, I especially love how they look with florals. Here, I'm wearing them in a very basic way with trouser jeans and one of my fave neon bags. Happy monday! :)

Inspiration!

pretty in pink

Olivia Palermo can do no wrong, even if she looks like a super sweet sixteen quiero mis quince cake topper. I bought this pink lace blouse about a month ago, and every time I see it, I can't help but remember Olivia in her pink Valentino. Someday I'll get to wear the real thing... even if it's just for fun in a Saks dressing room. This is what I'm wearing for casual drinks tonight, hope you have fun! :)

one outfit, two ways

This weekend as I was talking to a friend, I realized something: I no longer own "going out" clothes. When I was a teenager and in my early twenties, I had two kinds of clothes: going out clothes, and "normal day" clothes. I didn't have a job, and my only big daily duty was going to college, which didn't require me looking my best every day. That's why while I never left the house without make-up or doing my hair, I didn't exactly wear nice things. My nicer tops and killer heels were bought thinking about and worn 99.9% of the time only during the weekend.

I don't know when or how it happened, but I stopped thinking about two categories when buying clothes or shoes, and only buy one category: "nice" things. I'm not one to think much about the practicality of the things I wear (I'll wear the five inch heels even if my feet scream because they're so pretty), but I do try to buy only things I truly love and think I can wear anywhere. That's probably why I love cardigans so much: wear them over a nice top for the office, take off the cardigan for after work drinks! I also no longer buy t-shirts, but look for tops in nice frabics like silk, cotton or those that have embelishments.

Shoes are also huge when taking an ouffit from office, to drinks and everywhere in between. I wore this exact same outfit about two weeks ago with flats for hitting the mall, and wore it today with heels to the office. Happy tuesday shoes-day! :)

I love shoes

I have a huge soft spot for shoes. Out of anything I have in my closet, shoes are by far my fave.  They cost more than jeans and tops, but you get a ton more mileage out of them. The biggest thing about shoes, they always fit. You can gain or lose ten pounds, and half your clothes won't fit you anymore, but shoes? They're always there for you. I bought these Stuart Weitzman's online, and when they finally arrived I wasn't so sure they were my style. They're so comfortable they've grown on me. Hooray for shoes!

sunday lunch date

Hope you all had a great weekend! I must admit I'm having a lazy day and didn't want to post today, but I'm trying to get myself to procrastinate less! I wore this to lunch with the boyfriend and his family. I wasn't feeling like doing too much, so I wore basics (skinny jeans and trusty black), but added a punch of color with my shoes and clutch. Accessories do make an outfit!

coral is my fave

Do you have a color you love that you think you look especially good in? For me, that color is coral. Whenever I don't know what to wear, I just wear something in that shade and I feel so much better! On the opposite end, there's brown. I hate the way brown shades look against my skin, I feel so washed out. A tip, I've read red and blue are almost universal, they look good on almost everyone! If you're feeling tired, stay away from black tops, wearing black close to your face accentuates dull skin.

stripes on stripes

I love mixing patterns, it's one of my favorite fashion experiments! A trick I picked up in a magazine, you can mix the same kind of pattern in one outfit, just make sure they're different scales.

At first, I wasn't 100% on board with how the green looks against the sweater (you can't tell from the pic but the cardigan is beige and not white in real life), but I reasoned that the pink from the cardigan compliments the green from the tank. Have a great afternoon :)
